An HMI unit had to be developed for the new mini pro that would meet the highest standards in a harsh kitchen environment: heat-resistant, moisture-resistant, operable with gloves – and at the same time intuitive, robust and high-quality in design.
Our solution:
A customised 7-inch touch display with individually printed glass, capacitive on/off button, sophisticated plastic frame construction and integrated labelling solution – developed for uncompromising performance in everyday kitchen use.
Project manager Jürgen Korenjak accompanied the project from the initial idea in 2020 to series production and beyond:
"The project with Convotherm was one of my highlights. Over a period of 4.5 years, we accompanied all phases – from the initial meetings to prototypes, tests, optimisations and final series production. There were many challenges, but through close cooperation with the customer and our team in China, we were able to solve each one. This project shows how strong MICHEL ITC is: different technologies – bundled into a perfect HMI solution, all from a single source. Even the customer was on site in China to experience production live – it is precisely this proximity, transparency and communication that we strive for."
MICHEL ITC was more than just a service provider for us – they were a true project partner. Thanks to their structured project management and understanding of our requirements, we were able to work together to create an intuitive solution for the professional kitchen.
