The IMD process is an injection molding process in which a decorative or switching film is fused directly to a plastic part. This creates a very stable bond. In addition, the end product is produced directly during the injection process without the need for an additional assembly step. The advantages of this advanced process are the wide range of design possibilities and the customer-specific individualizations.
IML (Inmold Labeling)
IMD can also be combined with Inmold Labeling IML. This high-quality and fully automated form of sensor integration can be perfectly combined with IMD technology. In one mold and in one process step, control panels and capacitive surfaces with customer-specific decor on the front and permanently integrated touch sensors for diverse functionality on the back are created. The unique combination of these two processes allows your control panels to be decorated and functionalized at the same time.
