HMI complete solution for new probe measurement electronics

To develop a membrane switch for their new probe measurement electronics, Aquasant turned to MICHEL ITC. But what started as a membrane switch ended up as a complete HMI solution.

Aquasant Messtechnik AG in Bubendorf is an innovative Swiss company known for highest quality. Their measurement and control devices are successfully used in the chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, biotechnology and food industries, all over the world.

Under the name "new generation 2020", Aquasant launched new probe measurement electronics in May 2019, replacing more than 25 years of analog technology. For this new generation of equipment, Aquasant turned to MICHEL ITC for the development of a membrane switch. Various other suppliers were envisaged for the other elements of the operating unit.

Engineering made to measure

From the beginning it was clear that the planned membrane switch had to be integrated into an existing housing. In the course of the project, however, it became apparent that the prevailing installation situation was very "tricky" and complicated. The project had to be adapted several times and new approaches for the implementation of the control unit became inevitable.

Exactly here MICHEL ITC could step in and help. Because as a specialist for tailor-made HMI solutions, MICHEL ITC was able to provide the customer with optimal advice in the engineering area and to support them with new approaches to solutions.

It took several meetings and brainstorming sessions with Aquasant's project managers and software developers as well as MICHEL ITC's consulting teams in Switzerland and China. But soon a new solution emerged.

Instead of various individual components, a complete operating unit was developed in module design, which can now be easily installed in the existing housing.

Mr. Marc Lais, Development at Aquasant, summarizes the project as follows:

With MICHEL ITC, we had a partner on our side who could not only offer us "everything from a single source", but also developed the new input system together with us. Without the good cooperation with MICHEL ITC, especially with Beate Michel, it would not have been possible to implement the complex project in this time.
